Tourism Council
The Fredericksburg Regional Chamber of Commerce Tourism Council supports and promotes the business interests of our region’s tourism industry.
The tourism industry is a key driver in the regional economy and an important aspect of community life. Historic sites and battlefields blend with modern attractions to create a diverse destination enjoyed by thousands of visitors per year. Hotel, restaurants, retail, recreation and performing arts support and enhance the visitor experience. Other industry segments such as agri-tourism and eco-tourism take advantage of the area’s rich agricultural heritage and abundant natural resources. The area hosts significant new and coming attractions, from the State Fair in Caroline County to Celebrate Virginia in Fredericksburg to the National Museum of the Marine Corps and Heritage Center in Prince William County.
Focused on supporting tourism businesses and growing the regional tourism market, the Tourism Council creates commerce through tourism. As a member organization, the council provides regional coordination and advocacy for tourism issues. It offers opportunities for tourism professionals to work closely with others in the industry on issues with regional scope and impact. The council identifies challenges and opportunities in the tourism industry and develops targeted initiatives to meet those needs.
