Central Rappahannock Regional Library will hold their ninth annual Rappahannock Writers’ Conference on Saturday, November 8, 8:45 a.m.-4:30 p.m., at the Germanna Community College Fredericksburg Area Campus, Workforce and Technology Center.

The conference will feature keynote speeches from Austin S. Camacho, author of the Hannibal Jones mystery series and the Stark & O’Brien adventure series, and New York Times-bestselling author and Emmy and Writer’s Guild of America-nominated writer-producer Tom Straw.

Virtual sessions include: “Books and Beasties;” “Substack, Socials, Insanity, Oh My!–Building a Platform the Fun and Painless Way;” “Why Your Second Draft Should Be the First Time You Start to Self-Edit;” “Instagram–How to Use It to Build Your Following;” and “The Intersection of Fiction and Nonfiction–How to Blend Genres and Keep Readers Hooked.”

The conference is aimed at adults and teens at all writing levels, with sessions for those considering writing for the first time, as well as experienced authors with many published books, in all genres of fiction and nonfiction.

Saturday’s attendance is capped at 160 in person and 250 virtually. Registration for Saturday’s in-person session is now full; however, you may join the waitlist or sign up to attend virtually. Virtual attendees will receive a link by email to access the keynote presentations and select sessions. There are also special in-person-only evening workshops on Friday, November 7, at Howell Branch. In-person registration is full for Friday’s events and a waitlist is available.

In-person check-in begins at 8:15 a.m. on Saturday, November 8. The conference begins at 8:45, with a morning keynote speech by Austin S. Camacho, to be followed by classes, lunch, and a 1:00 afternoon keynote speech by Tom Straw. After book signings and speaker meet-and-greets, there will be two more class sessions, running until 4:25.
