The Marine Corps Historic Half is returning to the City of Fredericksburg on Saturday, May 17 and Sunday, May 18, 2025.
On Saturday – new this year – the Semper Fred 5k is a family-friendly, all ages event the day BEFORE the Marine Corps Historic Half. Planned road closures are scheduled in the Central Park area on Saturday, May 17th 12:00am – 9:00am for Gordon Shelton Boulevard and portions of Carl D. Silver Parkway. On Sunday, The Marine Corps Historic Half is a 13.1 mile run that winds through portions of Central Park, Cowan Boulevard, Hospital Hill and Historic Downtown areas. Planned road closures are scheduled for Sunday, May 18th. Events begin at 6:00 a.m. with street closures and parking restrictions affecting residents throughout the Fredericksburg area beginning at 4:00 a.m. until approximately 11:00 a.m., depending on your location.
