Fredericksburg Area Metropolitan Planning Organization (FAMPO) is working towards developing the 2055 Long Range Transportation Plan (LRTP). The public has the opportunity to provide feedback by taking the Transportation Goals and Needs Survey, which is open from January 23 – March 4, 2026.

The LRTP is a fundamental transportation planning document created by MPO staff in coordination with local and state planners and professionals. This document outlines our region’s vision for the future of transportation in the Fredericksburg Area and lists all future projects that the region anticipates undertaking in the next 20 to 30 years. The plan considers all aspects and modes of transportation, including studies to identify needs, road projects, public transit improvements, freight movement, and bike and pedestrian additions. FAMPO needs the public’s help to develop transportation goals and needs for the Fredericksburg area and want feedback on how the region should work toward achieving those transportation goals.

In this survey, participants will first be guided to provide feedback on the 7 goals FAMPO proposed and transportation needs participants can identify in the region. Then, participants will be given a chance to propose their own goals. This survey allows participants to take part in planning their community’s future in just 5-10 minutes.
