Diamond In The Rough is more than just a new gym coming to the area, it’s a training space built on discipline, consistency, and real coaching. With over 20 years of experience in the fitness industry working with athletes, adults, and youth, the founder, Jamil Ramsuer, recognized a need in the community for a facility that prioritizes education, proper movement, and long-term health over quick fixes.

The result is a welcoming, high-standards environment where people of all fitness levels are coached, supported, and challenged appropriately.

Tell us about your new gym, what inspired you to open it, and what the community can expect.

Diamond In The Rough was created to fill a gap in the local fitness landscape. After decades in the industry, it became clear that many gyms focus on trends or fast results rather than sustainable progress. This gym was designed to be different, a place where coaching matters, movement is taught correctly, and results are built through structure and consistency.

The community can expect a space that is welcoming, but built on accountability and high standards. Whether someone is brand new to fitness or experienced in training, Diamond In The Rough is designed to meet people where they are and help them progress safely and confidently.

What type of workouts or classes will you offer, and who is your ideal member?

Diamond In The Rough will offer a wide range of training options, including:

  • Strength training

  • Athletic performance programming

  • Boxing-inspired conditioning

  • Small-group training

  • Youth sports development

  • One-on-one personal training

The ideal member is someone who wants structure, accountability, and results; whether they’re a beginner, a former athlete, a busy professional, or a parent getting back into fitness.

What makes your gym different from other fitness options in the area?

What truly sets Diamond In The Rough apart is its intentional programming and coaching-based model. Every workout is structured, scalable, and taught with purpose – not random, trend-driven, or one-size-fits-all.

The gym focuses on integrated training that combines strength, conditioning, bodybuilding, and athletic movement to build real-world performance. Members learn not only what to do, but why they are doing it – creating long-term results and a stronger sense of community.

Where are you in the opening process, and what is your expected opening timeline?

The gym is currently under construction, with roof repairs and build-out underway. The team is actively working through final logistics and equipment planning. The goal is to open later this year once construction is complete and the space is fully ready to serve the community at the level expected.

How can people get involved early (pre-sale memberships, founding rates, events, or updates)?

Diamond In The Rough will offer founding member and pre-sale opportunities approximately six weeks prior to opening through the Mindbody platform. Community members can also follow along on social media for behind-the-scenes progress, announcements, and launch details.

What’s your long-term vision for the gym and the community you want to build?

The long-term vision is to create a strong, supportive fitness community that grows together. Diamond In The Rough aims to be a hub for health, confidence, youth development, and community connection -a place where people feel seen, coached, and proud of the work they put in.
