(Fredericksburg, VA) April 3, 2026 – The Fredericksburg Clean & Green Commission is pleased to announce the opening of the 2026 Sustainability Award cycle, recognizing local businesses that demonstrate leadership in environmental responsibility, community engagement, and sustainable business practices.
Beginning April 1, 2026, businesses located in downtown Fredericksburg are invited to participate in the program by completing a short sustainability questionnaire highlighting practices such as waste reduction, energy efficiency, local partnerships, and environmentally conscious operations. Submissions will remain open through May 30, 2026.
The Sustainability Award program celebrates businesses that contribute to a cleaner, greener Fredericksburg while encouraging continued progress toward the City’s environmental goals.
Businesses recognized through the program will be featured in City press releases, Clean & Green Commission social media posts, and local media coverage throughout the award cycle. Participating businesses will also receive a new Sustainability Champion window decal to display, helping customers and visitors easily identify businesses committed to environmentally responsible practices.
The program continues to focus on Fredericksburg’s downtown business district, where the concentration of locally owned businesses creates strong opportunities to highlight sustainable practices and inspire community leadership.
