Fredericksburg, Virginia, April 1, 2025 – The Friends of the Central Rappahannock Regional Library have launched a special membership drive for the month of April. The Friends is a volunteer-run, non-profit organization established in 1972 to raise funds to enhance the services of Central Rappahannock Regional Library, focus public attention on the library, and support the library in developing library services and facilities for the region.

 

The Friends are offering membership rewards to anyone who joins or renews in April. Memberships are available at multiple levels, each of which earn different rewards. Friends of the Library are eligible to become members of the Virginia Credit Union and Topside Federal Credit Union. For information on Friends membership, visit crrlfriends.org/join-us.

 

 

The Friends will be holding a special sale at the Friends of the Library Center & Bookshop, 125 Olde Greenwich Drive Suite 150, Fredericksburg, 22408.

·     Friday, April 4, 5:00-9:00 pm: Preview Evening for Friends members only. Non-members can join at the door to access the sale.

·     Saturday, April 5, 10:00-6:00 pm

·     Monday, April 7, 10:00-6:00 pm (1/2-price day)

·     Tuesday, April 8, 10:00-5:00 pm (1/2-price in the bookshop, $3 in the warehouse)

·     Wednesday, April 9, 10:00-5:00 pm (1/2-price in the bookshop, $3 in the warehouse)

 

The Friends of the Library Center & Bookshop will be closed April 1-3, all day; and April 4 until 5:00 pm to prepare for the sale.

 

The Friends raise funds through the Friends of the Library Center & Bookshop and bookshops in many branches, and through membership dues. Funds support professional development, enhancing the abilities of library staff to offer excellent services and programs for the public, including the Music on the Steps summer concert series, the Claudia Emerson Teen Poetry Contest, and the Johnny P. Johnson Teen Art Show.
