Fredericksburg, VA, August 18, 2025 – Mary Washington Hospital is proud to announce that Brian McDermott, MD, and Kostas Constantine, MD, both of Mary Washington Orthopedics in affiliation with FOA, have been named among America’s Leading Doctors 2025 by Newsweek and Statista. This prestigious recognition honors the nation’s most respected and high-performing specialists who demonstrate exceptional clinical expertise, outstanding patient outcomes, and an unwavering commitment to compassionate care.
For the first time, Newsweek and Statista compiled a ranking of America’s Leading Doctors 2025, which highlights more than 2,800 doctors from 15 medical specialties in hospital systems around the country. Previously, the partners published top rankings for vascular and spine surgeons; this is the first comprehensive ranking to be published.
Recognized in two distinct specialties, Dr. McDermott and Dr. Constantine each earned national honors. Dr. McDermott was named in the Hip Surgery category and is the only hip surgeon in the Fredericksburg region—and one of just 11 in Virginia—to receive this distinction. Dr. Constantine was honored in the Hand Surgery category and is also the only hand surgeon in the region recognized, joining just three physicians statewide.
