Creating Career Pathways Through Business Partnerships
Caroline High School continues to strengthen the connection between education and the workforce through meaningful business partnerships. Sheehy Ford of Ashland remains a strong supporter of our Automotive Technology students, hosting multiple externships that have led to real opportunities. Over the past few months, Sheehy Ford has hosted three senior externships, with nearly every student being offered an internship to continue building their automotive mechanic skills. Two students have already been hired, demonstrating the impact of hands-on learning.
Student Success Spotlight
We are proud to recognize Anton Paar for hiring Senior Marcus Ruffin as a full-time apprentice during the school year. Marcus is excelling in his role and serves as a great example of how industry partnerships can lead directly to career success.
Career Exploration & Industry Engagement
The November Career Expo was a success, giving students the opportunity to explore new career paths and practice professional communication with local businesses. A highlight included Amazon’s Data Center trailer, which allowed students to explore what data centers do, what they look like, and the wide range of careers within this growing field.
Thank You to Our Community Supporters
Caroline High School would like to extend a special thank you to Clean Arc and Virginia Credit Union for their generous donations supporting our upcoming March CTE events. Without their support, many students would have been limited in their ability to participate. Their contributions have made it possible for every student to take part, ensuring equitable access to these valuable experiences.
Upcoming Events – March 19 & 20
Innovate & Elevate: A CHS CTE Showcase (March 19)
Businesses are invited to visit our CTE Wing to watch students demonstrate their skills, provide feedback, share industry insight, and potentially fill part-time positions.
Reverse Career Day (March 19 & 20)
Freshman Career Strategies students will line the CTE hallways to share their career goals and plans. Volunteers will “reverse interview” students, helping them build confidence and communication skills.
Caroline High School is seeking business partners and volunteers to support these events and help prepare our students for future success.
