Last Friday, the Fredericksburg Regional Chamber hosted its Fourth Annual Women’s Symposium, an inspiring morning centered on the theme “The Power of Collective Impact: When Women Lead Together, Communities Thrive.” Held during Women’s History Month, the event was a meaningful opportunity to celebrate the achievements, leadership, and impact of women across our region.
The symposium brought together leaders from across our community to share insights, build meaningful connections, and encourage growth for women in business and throughout our region.
Our keynote speaker, Jennifer Griffin of Gwyneth’s Gift, shared a powerful message about resilience and the importance of rest. She encouraged attendees to pour back into themselves, take time to pause and reflect, and recognize that even while recharging, they are still making a meaningful impact.
During the Community Engagement Fireside Chat, panelists Jordan Hinkebein of Hilldrup, Rebecca Purdy of Central Rappahannock Regional Library, and Alicia Turner of North Compass Solutions discussed the importance of engaging with the community as a leader and how individuals can influence and create impact beyond their official titles.
The Small Business and Innovation panel, moderated by Linzy Browne of Brolin Creative, featured Maggie McIntyre of Rejuvalase Medspa, Dori Stewart of FXBG Neighbors, and Latasha Brooks of A & B Creative Events. The panelists shared what inspired them to start their businesses, the leap of faith required to pursue entrepreneurship, and the early challenges that helped shape their success.
A special moment during the Women’s Symposium was the recognition of Marci Catlett, who was recently named the 2027 Region III Superintendent of the Year. Marci was recognized at the event by Susan Spears, President and CEO of the Fredericksburg Regional Chamber, and Ginni Matern, Chair of the Chamber Board. We are proud to celebrate her leadership and this outstanding achievement in education.
This symposium marked the first event of the year where proceeds raised from our raffles will support Rappahannock CASA, CNEW’s chosen nonprofit of the year.
Events like this reflect the mission of CNEW: Enterprising empowered women embracing connections and enriching community.
