2026 has already proven to be a busy and exciting year for the Chamber. From our executive team attending Chamber Day at the Capitol to advocate for the needs of our region’s business community, to welcoming new leadership and new board members, we are entering this year with strong momentum and a continued commitment to serving our members.

The Chamber board has exciting changes that will impact on our program of work and support both our long-time members and the 159 new members that joined us in 2025.  Ginni Matern, Founder and President of Matern Staffing, is the 2026 Chair of the Board. Ginni is deeply engaged with the community and the Chamber, serving on boards such as the Spotsylvania EDA and the GO Virginia Region 6 Council. A Leadership Fredericksburg graduate, we are grateful for her continued service and leadership.

I am also pleased to share that Ryan VanderWjist, Chief Financial Officer at SimVentions, will serve as Vice Chair in 2026. Also a Leadership Fredericksburg graduate, Ryan’s insight, strategic perspective, and commitment to the Chamber’s mission will be invaluable as we work together to advance our priorities and support our members.

In addition, we are excited to welcome several outstanding professionals to our Board of Directors for 2026:

  • Pete Humes, Commercial Banking Group Leader – Virginia, Atlantic Union Bank
  • Cyndi Mack, Human Resource Director, Universal Dynamics
  • Brian Shanle, General Manager, Kalahari Resorts and Conventions

Each of these leaders brings valuable experience and a shared passion for strengthening our business community and region. We are grateful for their willingness to serve and support the Chamber’s mission.

As we move further into 2026, we are creating new opportunities for connection and professional growth. We look forward to signature events including the CEW Women’s Symposium, the 35th Annual Gala: A Night at the Museum, the 2nd Annual Educator Appreciation Breakfast, the 10th Annual First Responders Appreciation Breakfast, and the celebration of 20 years of Leadership Fredericksburg. Just this week we launched the new ChamberWorks Business Academy and the Chamber will announce a new regional initiative soon. So many tremendous milestones happening in what promises to be a banner year!

Thank you to our members, partners, volunteers, and board leaders for your continued support and engagement. Together, we will continue to grow a strong, vibrant, and connected business community in 2026 and beyond.
