CoreStrategy HR Solutions is pleased to introduce CoreGive Foundations, an initiative designed specifically for small nonprofit organizations with fewer than 50 employees. This program

reflects a commitment to strengthening the nonprofit sector by providing high-quality human resources infrastructure support to organizations that make a meaningful difference in communities.

Program Overview

For the 2026 pilot year, CoreStrategy HR Solutions will select two small organizations from among its affiliated chambers of commerce and the Center for Nonprofit Advancement to receive pro bono HR services through the Essentials Pathway. This targeted support will help build fundamental HR capabilities that enable mission-focused organizations to thrive.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization
  • Fewer than 50 employees (full and part-time combined)
  • Operating budget is less than $1 million annually
  • Operational for at least one year, with preference given to newer organizations (1-5 years)
  • Current member of the Center for Nonprofit Advancement, Fredericksburg Regional Chamber of Commerce, or Virginia Black Chamber of Commerce
  • Demonstrated need for HR infrastructure development
  • Ability to actively participate in the engagement process

Available Services

Selected organizations can choose one of the following Essentials Pathway services:

  • HR Policies & Procedures Development: Creation of legally compliant, essential HR policies tailored to your organization’s size and industry
  • Mini HR Assessment & Recommendations: Targeted evaluation of current HR practices with specific, prioritized recommendations
  • Basic Employee Handbook Development: Creation of a foundational employee handbook covering essential policies
  • Role Clarity & Accountability Framework: Development of clear role definitions and accountability structures

Application Process

Interested organizations can apply by completing the CoreGive Foundations Application, available on the website’s CoreGive Foundations page.

Applications are accepted as indicated below:

  • Winter/Spring Deadline: January 15th
  • Summer/Fall Deadline: July 15th

Selected organizations will be notified within two weeks of the application deadline.

Program Requirements

Selected organizations commit to:

  • Dedicating staff time to actively participate in the engagement

 

  • Providing a testimonial upon project completion
  • Authorizing CoreStrategy HR Solutions to develop a case study based on the engagement
  • Completing pre-engagement and post-engagement assessments to measure impact
