The 2026 Youth Tour is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to form connections with a select group of students from around the country and get a behind-the-scenes look at the nation’s capital.
High school juniors are encouraged to apply if their family receives electricity from Rappahannock Electric Cooperative (REC). Children of REC employees who are also REC Members are encouraged to apply.
Selected students will join the 2026 Youth Tour, held June 15-19, 2026, in Washington, D.C., and hosted by the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association (NRECA).
The deadline to apply is Jan. 31, 2026.
Youth Tour has shaped generations of leaders. Not just a summer trip, it’s an unforgettable and unique experience to stand where our nation’s greatest leaders have stood and to see history in the making. Through the tour, students learn about their local electric cooperatives and the relationship they have with the government and the impact they have in their communities.
