The Oberle Academy is pleased to announce the appointment of Mrs. Kristi Allison as Director of Workforce Development, bringing deep experience in education, Career and Technical Education (CTE), and workforce development to the Oberle community.
Mrs. Allison’s journey into education began unexpectedly while she was substituting during her sons’ elementary school years—an experience that quickly revealed a passion for teaching she hadn’t previously considered. She formally entered the classroom in 2009 as a Special Education teacher at James Monroe High School, later transitioning to teach Marketing and ultimately serving as Coordinator of Career and Technical Education. Most recently, Mrs. Allison worked with the Virginia Department of Education as a Secondary Workforce Development Specialist before joining The Oberle Academy in January 2026.
Reflecting on her new role, Mrs. Allison shares:
“I’m truly excited to be back in a school environment where I can work directly with students again. Supporting them as they discover their strengths and future pathways is the work that energizes me most. I bring a deep passion for work-based learning and for building meaningful community partnerships that open doors and create real opportunities for our students.”
Working alongside Oberle’s talented and committed staff, Mrs. Allison will advance The Oberle Academy’s mission to Educate – Empower – Employ. Students will further explore career pathways as early as middle school to develop personalized academic and career plans supported by high-quality, work-based learning experiences that build confidence, real-world skills, and independence.
Mrs. Allison looks forward to collaborating with local businesses to help students explore career pathways while building a strong future workforce. Businesses interested in partnering with The Oberle Academy are encouraged to contact Mrs. Allison at [email protected].
The Oberle Academy is excited to welcome Mrs. Allison to this leadership role and looks forward to the impact her vision and expertise will have on students, families, and community partners alike.
