(Fredericksburg, VA) May 2, 2024 – Fredericksburg City Council unanimously approved a plan April 23 for the local Main Street organization to co-locate with the Visitor Center on the first floor of the Executive Plaza at 601 Caroline Street.

The lease between the City and Fredericksburg VA Main Street Inc. will allow the organization to occupy about 200 square feet of the space for its office. Plans call for a separate entrance for the Main Street office off Caroline Street.

“We were pleased to support this collaboration between the City of Fredericksburg and Main Street,” said Fredericksburg Mayor Kerry Devine. Devine added that the collaboration is in keeping with City Council Priority no. 5 — working with community partners to be a premier destination by leveraging our many assets in the new Visitor Center.

“Fredericksburg Main Street is excited to have the opportunity to move our offices into Executive Plaza and be located in the new Visitor Center,” said Chris Allen, the organization’s executive director. “This opportunity will give Fredericksburg Main Street more visibility and create a collaborative environment with the City of Fredericksburg and its Department of Economic Development and Tourism. Our work together is an integral part of the economic vibrancy of the Historic District and downtown Fredericksburg.”

The local Main Street office is currently at 904 Princess Anne Street. The new Visitor Center is expected to be ready by early Fall.
