Fredericksburg, VA (March 27, 2026) – Downtown Fredericksburg has been selected as a contender in Garden & Gun Magazine’s annual bracket-style competition to determine the “Best Main Street in the South,” and the community is being called on to help secure the title.
Hosted by Garden & Gun Magazine, the competition highlights 16 standout downtowns across the Southern United States, celebrating places known for their charm, local businesses, dining, and sense of community. Voting is open to the public and conducted through an online bracket, with winners advancing through multiple rounds.
Fredericksburg’s Main Street district, known for its walkable historic charm, vibrant small business community, and year-round events, is now in the running and local leaders say community participation will be key.
“This is more than just a title, it’s a chance to showcase everything that makes Downtown Fredericksburg so special,” said Chris Allen, Executive Director of Fredericksburg Main Street. “From our small businesses and restaurants to our events and historic character, this recognition reflects the heart of our community. Now we need our residents, visitors, and supporters to show up and vote.”
