This month, the Fredericksburg Regional Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with the Fredericksburg Regional Alliance and the Military Affairs Council, proudly recognized Dale Sisson with a Resolution of Appreciation in honor of his exceptional leadership, service, and impact across our region.
Over the course of a remarkable career spanning more than 30 years, Dale Sisson held numerous leadership roles at Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division (NSWCDD)—culminating in his service as Technical Director, a role from which he will retire in June 2025. In this position, Dale led a workforce of over 5,000 employees and oversaw the strategic direction and technical excellence of Dahlgren’s $2.6 billion research, development, testing, and evaluation portfolio. His work supported complex naval combat, sensor, weapon, and strategic systems—critical elements in our nation’s defense.
Beyond his technical achievements, Dale is celebrated for his commitment to mentorship and workforce development, consistently guiding and empowering others throughout his career.
His leadership extended far beyond the gates of Dahlgren. Dale served on the Virginia Tech Grado Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering Advisory Board, the YMCA Board of Directors, and held many influential roles in King George youth sports. He also served his community with distinction as a member of the King George County Board of Supervisors for 12 years, including multiple terms as Chair.
In every role, Dale championed regional cooperation, supported the business and military communities, and led with integrity and vision.
We are honored to celebrate Dale Sisson—not only for his extraordinary career, but for the enduring example he has set in public service, mentorship, and community impact.
Thank you, Dale, for your dedication and leadership. You’ve helped shape the future of our region, and we are deeply grateful.
