FREDERICKSBURG, Va. — Rappahannock Goodwill Industries (RGI) is recognizing Curry Roberts for more than six years of dedicated service on its Board of Directors and welcoming Tom Scott, President of Virginia’s Innovation Crossroads Alliance, as a new board member.
During his tenure, Curry helped RGI strengthen the connection between its workforce development mission and regional economic development priorities. His leadership contributed to two Strategic Plans, RGI’s focus on generating “More Impact,” and the creation of its first Signature Mission program, CareerPath Accelerator.
“Curry’s thoughtful guidance, steady participation, and commitment to the Power of Work have been deeply valued,” said Andy Withers, Chair of the RGI Board of Directors. “His contributions have made a meaningful difference to RGI, and he will be sorely missed.”
RGI commemorated Curry’s service with a print of Norman Rockwell’s “The Paycheck,” an artwork symbolizing the dignity, independence, and opportunity that come through work.
RGI also welcomes Tom Scott to its Board of Directors. Tom brings more than 25 years of leadership experience in economic development, strategic planning, business investment, and job creation. Before leading Virginia’s Innovation Crossroads Alliance, he held leadership roles with Virginia’s Gateway Region, the Virginia Economic Development Partnership, and Bank of America.
“Tom’s extensive economic development experience and commitment to creating opportunities make him a strong addition to our Board,” said Steve Cox, President & CEO of RGI. “We are excited to welcome him as we continue advancing the Power of Work throughout our region.”
